4 must-read books by South African authors

Now that the holiday season is over, it’s time to get back to reading especially because there are plenty of proudly South African books to choose from.

Here are 4 must-read books by South African authors:

1. Born Freeloaders by Phumlani Pikoli. This book is based on the lives of millennial kids whose parents are high profile and wealthy politicians. Some important topics that are tackled are privilege, identity, politics and drugs. I love that it’s written in the way millennials speak; there is quirky lingo and references that are in line with the times we are living in. I highly recommend that you make this book part of your collection because it’s a masterpiece.
