The three suspects who were arrested in connection with the hijacking and murder of an e-hailing driver, Isaac David Satlat, have opted to abandon bail.
Dikeledi Mphela (25), Gotseone Machidi (26) and McClaren Mushwana (30) appeared at the Pretoria Magistrate’s Court on Monday. Facing hijacking and murder charges, the suspects told the court that they would not be applying for bail. The matter was postponed to 23 February for further investigations. All three will remain in custody.

Isaac was strangled to death. His body and car were recovered in Atteridgeville on the day of his murder. Dikeledi was arrested on Friday, after she handed herself over to the police. Her co-accused Gotseone and McClaren were arrested over the weekend.
SABC news recently confirmed that the fourth suspect handed himself in, and will appear in court on Tuesday (today).

The news made headlines after the gruesome video of Isaac’s brutal attack and murder was widely shared on social media platforms. The incident happened on February 11 after Isaac, who was operating on the Bolt platform, was allegedly lured to his death by a male and female who posed as passengers and requested a trip in Pretoria West.
