The Mushroom Farm Shopping Centre has officially opened its doors in Waterfall, Johannesburg, promising to bring a fresh retail experience to the rapidly expanding community.

As reported by BusinessTech, the R600 million centre features over 50 carefully curated retail and service outlets, catering to the diverse needs of local residents and visitors alike.

Strategically situated at the corner of Allandale and President Roads within the vibrant Kyalami-Waterfall node, the centre is just a short drive from the Mall of Africa, South Africa’s most frequented shopping destination.

The centre is named after a historic mushroom farm that once neighboured the original Waterval Farm (now part of Waterfall Estates), and adds a new layer of convenience and community to the thriving area.

It has been crafted as a vibrant social and lifestyle hub, anchored by a central community piazza that encourages gathering and interaction. It features 1,150 public parking bays, dedicated Uber and Checkers Sixty60 pickup zones with Wi-Fi, 60 motorbike bays, and 96 taxi bays to accommodate diverse transportation needs.

Additionally, major upgrades to Allandale Road and the K73, completed in 2023, enhance connectivity between the centre and surrounding residential and commercial districts, supporting seamless access for visitors.

Construction kicked off in September 2024 and finished on time in October 2025, creating around 2,100 jobs along the way.
