South African politicians have voiced out their feelings surrounding the death of Goolam Mohammed Suliman Vawda, who was reportedly behind the controversial X (formerly Twitter) page.
The 50-year-old man is believed to have been behind the X handle @goolamv – a social media page that was popular for trolling politicians, and was used to spread hate speech, cyberbullying, and defamatory statements targeting political figures and private citizens.
Goolam was found dead in hotel room in Sandton, Johannesburg on Tuesday. The police have opened an inquest into his death, as they wait for postmortem results. Currently, no foul play has been confirmed.
The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) president, Julius Malema took to his X to weigh in on Goolam’s death.

While businessman, Edwin Sodi was reportedly celebrating Goolam’s death.

I don’t know Goolam personally but I know he was the corrupt politicians nightmare. His reporting wasn’t always accuracy bt he always had 1st hand information & that rubbed off many in a wrong way.

They lured Goolam to a hotel in Sandton under the promise of money. Instead of paying him as agreed, They killed him. This shows how ruthless some political networks can be.
