ActionSA dismisses Xolani Khumalo’s Ekurhuleni MMC appointment

by Zintle Mdaka

ActionSA, under the leadership of Herman Mashaba, stands firm in rejecting the appointment of Ekurhuleni councillor and media personality, Xolani Khumalo, as a Member of the Mayoral Committee (MMC) in the City of Ekurhuleni.

The party clearly stated that they will not be part of what they call a corrupt and failed administration under Mayor Nkosindiphile Xhakaza. The Sizok’thola TV host was announced as Ekurhuleni’s MMC for community services and by-law enforcement, appointed by Xhakaza after his reshuffle.

Herman Mashaba issued a statement where he called the move fabricated, and rejected the joining of what they see as a failing administration plagued by service woes and infighting.

“This statement is entirely fabricated and does not reflect any engagement or agreement involving ActionSA. Following repeated and unsuccessful attempts by Mayor Xhakaza to solicit ActionSA’s participation in his administration, I have consistently made it clear that we will not join his failing government and have rejected every personal and formal approach made to us. Our position has been very clear on every occasion that we will not lend credibility to an administration that has overseen the lawless and deterioration of service delivery that continues to cripple the city,” read the statement.

I also don’t trust them. They’re most probably putting Xolani into a trap.. they might put all the blame on him when or should things go wrong. Ekurhuleni is way too rotten
