Isak’s path to silverware narrowing fast

Newcastle want to keep Isak, but if he waits another year, the doors to Europe’s elite may shut completely, writes Dylan Johnson.

Writing for Soccermag, Johnson argues that Alexander Isak’s future is at a crossroads. Newcastle United insist their star striker is not for sale, but Liverpool are prepared to test that resolve with a £120 million bid.

Isak, 25, is entering his prime, and his mix of pace, intelligence, and technical quality has made him one of Europe’s most in-demand forwards. But while Newcastle remain determined to build around him, many of the continent’s top clubs are finalising their long-term striker plans now.

Arsenal, Chelsea, and Manchester United have already moved, while options abroad are shrinking. If Isak stays another year, his chance to join a Champions League contender could disappear. Newcastle want to keep him, but the window to move might not stay open forever.
