An American woman who was incarcerated for 17 years showed the world that you do not need big beauty brands to get your face looking on point. The woman, whose name is Taylor, provided the internet with a “prison makeup” tutorial using three simple ingredients that can easily be found in your kitchen cupboards.

Taylor’s video was shared on TikTok and has so far received over 10.8 million views and more than 1.4 million likes.

Explaining the ingredients, Taylor shows a small plastic bowl of white powder. “Flour, cake mix, powdered sugar, whatever you wanna use, just make sure it’s white.”

The next two ingredients she reveals are a bottle of Pepsi and a packet of cocoa powder.

Opening the Pepsi and throwing the liquid into the bottle’s lid before throwing it into the plastic bowl, Taylor explains, “You want to start off with a little bit because if you put too much of it in the beginning, you’ll mess up.”

She then throws in the cocoa powder. “Depending on how dark the girl is, that’s how much you put in it.” Tayor then begins to mix the three ingredients together before adding more Pepsi to get the ‘makeup’ into a paste.

“The soda makes it sticky so that it can last on your face,” says Taylor. “If it’s too dark, then you just add more flour or powdered sugar.”

Once the paste reached the consistency and colour Taylor wanted, she then proceeded to show her followers how the paste was able to cover up a tattoo on her arm.

Amazed at the results, one TikToker wrote, “Nah cause, why is it full coverage AND edible? I’m sold.”

Another wrote, “But why does this look way better than a lot of name brand foundations ?.”

“This is definitely impressive. I’ve always said that our most talented people are being held down by the system. ♥️,” said another.
