Why you shouldn’t stalk your ex

by Unathi Balele
Breaking up is tough, but dwelling in the past can hinder personal growth.
Stalking your ex on social media might seem tempting, but it’s essential to resist the urge. Here are some reasons why shouldn’t stalk your ex by Elite Daily:
Preserve Your Mental Health: Constantly checking your ex’s profiles can lead to overthinking, jealousy, and negative emotions, keeping you trapped in a cycle of pain. What you do not want for yourself is derailing your healing process, after a breakup you should focus on healing and eventually moving on.
Inaccurate Representations: People tend to post highlights on social media, not their struggles. Seeing your ex appearing happy can be misleading and exacerbate your own feelings of sadness.
Stagnation: Stalking holds you back from moving forward. By focusing on their life, you’re not investing in your own personal development and new relationships. You find yourself at the same place in your healing process because you keep stalking and trying to keep tabs on your ex.
Privacy and Respect: Just as you’d want your own privacy respected, extend the same courtesy to your ex. Everyone deserves to heal and move on without the pressure of constant scrutiny.
Misinterpreted Intentions: Liking an old photo or viewing a story might be innocent, but it can easily be misconstrued. Maintaining distance helps avoid sending mixed signals.
