Why having a bucket list keeps life exciting

With the annual summer season now a stone’s throw away, and the new year a few months within reach, planning fun activities for you and your family should become a necessity.

So often we find ourselves going through life and simply taking things day by day, not living it to the fullest with enjoyment. In a world where there is so much to explore, the opportunity to make memories with the ones you love is limitless.

One way of achieving this is by creating your very own bucket list. Why grow old with regrets when you can change your destiny in the now? Having a bucket list is an awesome way for you to jot down many experiences or achievements you would hope to have or accomplish during your lifetime.

While many would associate it with something for the old and frail, one should view it more positively by asking yourself the question, “What do I love to do? What are the things that would give me a sense of achievement, purpose, happiness, or that would simply be fun?”

Benefits of creating a bucket list

According to the digital wellness publication Park View Health, many positives come from this.

These include

  • Increased energy – Pursuing something you truly want is more energising and fulfilling than avoiding a wrong action.
  • Inspiring others – Your zeal for life may even encourage others to start pursuing their passions or join you on your travel experience.
  • Increased gratitude – Having the opportunity to experience the things you’ve always wanted brings about a sense of contentment and sparks a sense of gratitude.
