A young newlywed had users in stitches as she spoke about forgetting she was married after dating her husband for 5 years.

TikTok creator @rearebetswekarabo on the app did the ‘When did you realise challenge’ where people tell their stories of how they realised something they had forgotten.

The creator used this popular challenge to tell users about a moment when she momentarily forgot about her marriage.  Given that she and her husband have been in a long-term relationship but are currently not living together, it’s understandable that she might occasionally forget her marital status.

In the video with over 570 thousand views, the creator explains that before she got married, she used to visit his place on weekends and go back home when it was time for work. Because they are currently not living together, she thought of skipping a weekend after visiting him in December.

She then mentions her husband’s amusing reaction where he tells her that since they’re now married, they can visit each other frequently.

Another scenario she mentions is when her father asks about his son-in-law. Many users related to this video as they relayed how they once forgot that they were married.

@rearabetswekarabo I swear it sometimes hit me hore “ohh kana I’m a married woman”?? but shame slowly my brain is remembering that I’m a married woman #youngmakoti? #marriedlife #myhusbandthismyhusbandthat ♬ original sound – Rearabetswe Karabo M

One user said: “My husband and I went on a honeymoon, but when my dad called to check on us I got scared thinking I was in trouble.”

Another user commented: “I once drove home instead of going to my marital home.”

A TikTok user said that she has been married for two months but still forgets to wake up early and make her husband breakfast.
