While South Africa is embracing the cold front with stormy weather in some parts and strong winds, a university student used their creativity to brave the cold weather while at a university residence by using a hairdryer to warm her body before going to bed.

A TikTok user with the username @thlalefosgeco took to her TikTok page to share a video of her roommate thinking outside of the box and sharing her hilarious trick for keeping herself warm.

The 18-second clip captioned: “POV: Heaters are not allowed at res,” gained attention from TikTok users. The video shows a young lady who is sitting on top of a bed covered with a white blanket warming her body, legs and hands with the hot air from the electronic appliance.

Stunned by this creativity, TikTok users took to the comment section of this video with their concerns and suggestions, while others mentioned that they can relate to the situation.

TikTok user said in the comment section: “They are just trying to avoid fire.”

One user commented that she sneaked in a heater at residence: “I still sneaked in one.”

Another one as well as many users said: “Buy a hot water bottle.”

While another one suggested: “Buy an electric blanket.”

A concerned user suggested a list of things to keep the body warm in winter: “Get a fleece blanket, warm PJs and apply vicks or vaseline on your body and you will be fine.”
