If there is one thing about preparing your children for their first week of school, it is taking up the laborious task of making sure that their books are covered.

Taking matters into her own hands, one high school student took an innovative and environmentally-friendly approach when it came to covering her school books.

A TikToker going by the username @hlompho_27 shared that her sister ditched the wrapping paper and instead opted for KFC’s brown paper bags.

“‘Reduce, reuse and recycle.’ Aowa, my sister is so unserious,” wrote the TikToker in her video’s caption.

Laughter, confusion and praise filled the video’s comment section.

“This is actually a great idea. Looking at the cover would motivate me to study,” said one TikToker.

“I can see this being a legit new fashion trend if done right,” shared another.

While another TikToker wrote: “I would rather have plain books.”

Other content creators on the popular app also shared their experiences covering either their children or siblings’ school books.
