Internet users were stunned by a TikTok creator who revealed the price difference between Amazon and Takealot deals.

TikTok creator Brenden Roberts, who goes by the username @brendenr22 compared deals between the US e-commerce company that launched in South Africa with Takealot prices.

In the video, the creator argued people to compare prices before purchasing items as other outlets provide the same service at a relatively cheaper price. Brenden first compared an Instax camera where he explained that on Amazon it cost R1259 whilst costing R1495 on Takealot which is a R236 price increase. He has done the same with a Marshall Woburn speaker ranging from R8k on Amazon to about R14k on Takealot.

This video caused many users to argue the fact that both e-commerce outlets are the same even with the price increases between the two.

One user commented: “Amazon’s selection is rather disappointing, to be honest.”

Another user was shocked that Amazon had lower prices than Takealot.

A user said that Amazon’s prices were low due to their recent launch into the country and that after a while they would have high prices.

Another user commented: “Purchased two daily deals from Amazon yesterday, today Takealot notified me that items on my wishlist were on sale- it was the exact discount that Amazon gave me.”
