Watch: Hilarious Cape Town taxi ‘guatjies’ fight over a passenger

Imagine trying to catch a taxi going or coming from work only for two grown men to approach you and start fighting for you, each wanting you to ride on his taxi. Well, that’s what happened to a Cape Town commuter who found himself stuck between two taxi “guatjies” in the end being pulled from side to side and lifted into the one taxi.

The hilarious video was taken by a passenger inside the taxi one of the guatjies was pulling the commuter into. Pulling, pushing and even lifting the commuter, the two men did not stop even though their victim eventually asked them to stop.

Some of the passengers inside the taxi found the whole show amusing while some complained telling the “guatjies” they wanted to go.

This uncouth behaviour is not a totally uncommon thing in the Cape Town taxi scenes, in fact, it is more common when approaching a number of taxis waiting to be filled up.

The hilarious video shared on TikTok gained a lot of response from social media users who commented:

“What makes it funnier is that he is not even saying anything and allowing them to fight for him ?????. ”

Some even made possible scenarios on what he would tell his boss as his reason for arriving late at work, they shared:

“Boss: Why we’re you late? Him: Two men were fighting over me.”

Others came up with family scenarios commenting:

“Imagine your wife must see how two men are fighting over you.”
