The ultimate guide to self-care Sundays

by Limpho Nonkonyane
PEXELS

Given that the average person works five days a week, Sundays are usually the perfect time to prioritise self-care.

Self-care Sundays is where you dedicate to either relaxing the whole day to either or to plan for the week ahead.

According to mental health information hub, Be Healthful, hustle culture often overlooks well-being and health, leading to disastrous outcomes. Good health is essential for all our actions since it empowers us to follow our interests with more enthusiasm and eagerness. In order to retain a good health, individuals ought to dedicate time for themselves at least once a week; Sunday being an excellent day of choice.

Self-care Sundays boost vitality, reduce stress and sickness risk. Mental and digestive health as well as active lifestyle help avoid waste/pollutants. Celebrities use these days to recharge for the week ahead, says the information hub.

Greatist, highlights 5 ways that you can plan a self-care Sunday:

  1. Reflect: Determine which aspects of your life require improvement (physical, mental, social, emotional, and spiritual).
  2. Brainstorm ideas: List all relaxing and recharging activities.
  3. Block your time: Set aside a certain amount of time, every Sunday for self-care, whether it’s 20 minutes, an hour, or half a day, and schedule it on your calendar.
  4. Make a plan: Align your ideas with weekly time blocks.
  5. Practice, practice, practice: The information hub states that you should allow for life disruptions to happen as not all self-care Sundays will be the same.

Although life gets busy one should always dedicate a day where they just relax and listen to their bodies.
