With the introduction of the new Level Ring, South Africans are now able to tap-and-pay with only the touch of a finger.

Level is a South African company setting out to create progressive technology products designed to simplify and upgrade everyday life.

Their goals have come to fruition with the launch of the new Level Ring, South Africa’s first-ever payment ring.

The idea for the new ring was inspired by the success stemming from their original ring. This product facilitated the transfer of business card details to smartphones.

The ring proves to be easily usable, as it merely requires consumers to link the ring to their smartphone via the Level app.

In order to pay, users form a fist with their hand and hover the ring above the payment terminal. It’s as simple as tap-to-pay.

Included in the long list of advantages of this invention is the fact that consumers will not need to have their smartphone on hand or nearby to make use of the ring. According to Business Tech, everything needed to complete the payment is held within the ring itself.

The ring is also scratch-resistant, dustproof, and waterproof, and it doesn’t need batteries to work.

Furthermore, the ring features world-class safety measures to ensure the security of transactions.

Mastercard and Visa have approved the ring, making it the most innovative payment variable in the market.

The new Level Ring has already been soft-launched but will be readily available by the end of July.

Level currently has a partnership with one South African bank but is actively working to partner with more banks and increase the accessibility of the ring.

Level has committed themselves to adding new features to their product, such as a loyalty and reward system, in order to reduce the use of plastic cards in the country.
