The New Year is known for being the time of new beginnings, and what better way to get in the new year than decorating your home in style?

While many families will be taking down the Christmas decorations, you do not need to spend a lot of money trying to add a new year’s feel into your home.

With a little creativity here are simple ways to add a New Year’s feel in your home suggested by Country Living– an information hub with experts that focuses on home decor, gardening and cooking:

  • Hang streamers and balloons in your home.
  • Display silver or gold party hats and noise makers.
  • Decorate a New Year’s Eve countdown clock.
  • Put up a “Happy New Year” banner.
  • Light up your home with sparkly lights.
  • Hang up a “Happy New Year” wreath on your door.

If you are going to host a New Year’s Eve party and you are worried that it might cost. Try the following ways to decorate for the party on a budget suggested by Real Simple– a website that is all about simplifying life covering a range of topics, from home decor, fashion to food.

  • Use black and white balloons to create a festive and simple backdrop.
  • Hang up a “Happy New Year” banner made from scrapbook paper.
  • Use glass jars as vases and fill them with sparkling beads or sequins.
  • Create garlands with silver or gold paper chains.
  • Use leftover wrapping paper and ribbons for table decorations.
  • Light up your home with candles in holders you already have.

The above-mentioned source says that a simple and budget-friendly approach to decorating can be just as fun and festive.
