Regular habits that ruin your skin

You may think that you have the perfect skin care routine and wonder why you have occasional breakouts despite this perfect skin care routine. From taking all the sun in during the day, the pollution, touching your face and make up, there is a high chance that there might be habits that are silently sabotaging your skin.

However, if you can get rid of these habits, you can definitely achieve the flawless skin you’ve always wished for; here are the habits that ruin your skin by Skin care.com:

Washing your face too much

Cleansing your face is an important part of any skin care routine but be careful not to go overboard with it, as it can do more harm than good. It is advisable that you wash twice a day as washing your skin more than twice per day can strip it of its natural oils and leave it more vulnerable to aggressors and pollutants.

Skipping your daily SPF

According to Healthline, SPF, or sun protection factor, measures how much solar energy is required to cause a sunburn when you’re wearing sunscreen compared with unprotected skin.

It is important to note that the sun does not discriminate, if you are exposed to the sun without any protection your skin has a higher chance of developing signs of aging like wrinkles, fine lines and sagging and even some skin cancers.

Going to bed with makeup on

Most of us are guilty of being too lazy to do a night time skin care routine after a night out because of being too tired, however it’s time to kick this bad habit.  If you neglect to wipe off the makeup before bed, it can lead to irritation, clogged pores, breakouts and dull-looking skin. If you’re lazy, store some face wipes or micellar water on your nightstand to cut out the trip to the sink.
