R54k toliet hits South African markets

If you thought the cost of living was expensive try then having a toilet that costs R54k is not on your budget.

As reported by Briefly News, the Incinolet toilet costs about R54k and doesn’t use water to flush but electricity and before using the toilet you need to put a paper lining on the basin to prevent it from sticking to the side of the basin. When flushing instead of water coming out it burns your waste leaving only ashes.

This toilet idea seems like a burning hazard given the long procedure you need to do before using it. So many questions flow through my mind has it electricity generated and with the unwarranted power outages in the country would that mean that you can not use it?

A video was posted on X (previously known as Twitter) where many users felt that it was unnecessary even questioning the safety precautions when using this toilet. It seems that this toilet might not sell as it uses a lot of electricity and could potentially cause your bill to increase rapidly as the burning of the waste takes about an hour and a half.

I’d pay money to not have this in my house pic.twitter.com/eZwrtCGCGu
