PICTURE: PEXELS/ CHRISTMAS DECOR

Christmas in every home looks and feels different, the factor to that is how we choose to decorate the house. I don’t know about you but Christmas decorations are one of the things I look forward to every year.

For this year’s celebrations, how about giving your home a unique touch with meaningful and do-it-yourself decorations? Your holiday parties will gain more cosiness and individuality with these Christmas decorations. By crafting with family and friends, you’ll not only create a memorable atmosphere but also build lasting memories.

Wrapped up art

According to RealSimple, “Wrapping blank canvases in various shapes with bright ribbons creates an artistic (ha!) mantelpiece display.”

Family Photo Display

Gather past years’ holiday photo cards of your family and hang them along the wall with lights or a clothespin. Display them in chronological order and, if you’re particularly detail-oriented, date the pins, the above source suggests.

Lighted hurricane lamps

The above website also adds that coiled Christmas light strands in bottomless hurricane lamps provide a luminous touch to a buffet or mantel. Insert the final plug into a wall outlet after connecting the cords and running the socket and plug the ends of each strand out from underneath its cylinder.

Advent Calendar

Create an advent calendar with messages or surprises for every day till Christmas. Hang goodies or entertaining activities from tiny boxes, or envelopes. It’s an enjoyable method to create anticipation all month long.

Custom Christmas ornaments

Use markers, paint, or clear baubles to create personalized ornaments. Family names, significant dates, or even pictures can be included. For an extra touch, you are more welcome to add glitter, or tiny pinecones to the ornaments.
