The Department of Petroleum and Mineral Resources has published official fuel price adjustments that take effect at midnight, with motorists seeing modest relief at the pumps, reports Cape {town} Etc.
The rand averaged R17.29 to the dollar over the review period. This has led to lower basic fuel price calculations.
- Petrol will fall by 51 cents per litre for both the 93 and 95 octane grades.
- Wholesale diesel will decline by 21 cents per litre for 0.05% sulphur and 19 cents per litre for 0.005% sulphur.
- Illuminating paraffin will drop by 1 cent per litre.
- LPG will decrease by 61 cents per kilogramme.

These adjustments reflect lower international product prices for petrol and diesel alongside a firmer rand, which together reduced the contribution to the basic fuel price by roughly 10.59 cents per litre for petrol and about 11.7 cents per litre for diesel and illuminating paraffin.
The slate levy remains set at 0.00 cents per litre from 4 November under the Self-Adjusting Slate Levy Mechanism.
