In a shocking tale of love and betrayal has led to an unimaginable horror. Pamela Ncumisa Selani, a 47-year-old mother, has been sentenced to three life terms for the chilling murders of her two lovers and her teenage son.
This tragic story raises questions about the complexities of love, the depths of betrayal, and the extreme actions one woman took when she was pushed to her limits by illness, abuse, and desperation.
According to The Citizen, Pamela’s dark saga began with her first lover, Michael Changisa back in 2016, after discovering that he had infected her with a chronic disease.
That led Pamela to conspire with her second lover, Gift, a Malawian national, it is alleged that Gift hid in the bathroom of the house Pamela shared with Michael, where Gift emerged and repeatedly struck him on the head with a hammer, killing him in the presence of Pamela’s two minor children. The pair then buried Michael’s body in their backyard.
A year later the couple then began living together in the house formerly shared with Micheal. However, their relationship became abusive.
The publication states that Pamela and her 17-year-old son conspired to kill Gift, citing abuse as the motive. They later buried his body in the same shallow grave where they buried Michael.
Pamela’s older son, who struggled with drug addiction, began demanding money and threatening to report his mother to the police. In a desperate bid to silence him, she brutally murdered him with a hammer, burying him on top of her previous victims.
The details of each murder are shocking. It is revealed that Pamela meticulously planned and executed the killings, ensuring that her victims were buried where no one would ever know.
News24 states that the grim sequence of events came to light in August 2020, when Pamela took her younger son to a traditional healer.
It is stated that during the consultation, the boy revealed the murders. The healer, under the pretence of calling another healer, summoned a community leader who reported the matter to the police. They were both arrested that day, with the charges against the son later withdrawn as he became a state witness.
In court, Pamela pleaded not guilty, denying all charges. However, the state, led by prosecutor Eric Sihlangu, proved its case beyond a reasonable doubt.
During sentencing, Judge Papi Masopa stated that she showed no remorse and labelled her actions as those of an “evil person” who mercilessly killed her lovers and her son.
Pamela was sentenced to three life terms for the murders and an additional five years for defeating the administration of justice.
