In a resolute effort to combat the pervasive issue of gender-based violence, the non-profit organisation I HEAR YOU has taken a determined stance to create lasting change.

The social media-based organisation is dedicated to putting an end to the cycle of gender-based violence in South Africa. With a multifaceted approach, I HEAR YOU seeks to educate, collaborate and empower individuals, focusing particularly on the younger generation to mould responsible and respectful mindsets.

At the heart of I HEAR YOU lies a mission to dismantle the deeply rooted societal norms that perpetuate gender-based violence

Through targeted infographics, the organisation sheds light on specific topics, providing eye-opening statistics and informative insights to raise awareness.

Its advocacy also extends beyond the digital realm, as the team organises marches, protests and drives to collect essentials like clothing and pepper spray.

The group’s primary goal is to foster a transformative change in the way society perceives gender-based violence. They believe that education is the cornerstone of progress, aiming to facilitate a process of unlearning and relearning social morality.

By preventing potential perpetrators from embracing abusive behaviour, I HEAR YOU strives to make a difference right from the roots. Its dedication to activism serves to build a network of allies who stand united against gender-based violence, ensuring a safer and more equitable future for all.
