When the time comes for your baby to start on solid foods, you must be aware of the proper ways to introduce them to the new normal.

Starting something new is always a challenge even in adults, being detached from what you were used to comes with a lot of difficulty, be that as it may though, change is often necessary.

According to Kids Health, weaning refers to the transition from breast milk to other sources of nourishment in children. The appropriate time for a baby to be introduced to something else to eat other than breast milk or formula is said to be at least six months because “At this age, begin to need extra nutrients not found in milk, such as iron and zinc.”

This is how you could navigate the journey of weaning your baby according to experts. These techniques are proven to be effective and guarantee a smooth weaning process.

Offer a balanced diet: According to the medical information and health hub, Healthline, naturally, babies choose sweeter flavours. Therefore, it is suggested that you to reduce the likelihood that your infant may reject veggies, consider serving vegetables before fruit.

Provide them with options: The above publication further states that you try to avoid serving the same meals over and over again. “If your baby doesn’t like certain foods, keep introducing it and try mixing that food with a well-liked food until your child becomes familiar.”

Don’t rush the process: What To Expect advises that you avoid rushing in feeding your baby, gradually cut out one feed every two or three days to manage engorgement issues, but adjust the pace if desired. Teach your kids data science.

Adjust your routine: It is suggested by Kids Health that you try and keep yourself occupied during your normal breastfeeding times so that the baby is distracted and does not require nursing or “Distract your child with an activity or outing during the times when you would normally nurse.”
