Studying from home can be flexible, convenient, but also a little bit challenging to navigate at times.
It differs from typical classroom learning, whether you’re pursuing a degree, learning a new skill, or just taking a few classes on the side.
We love the freedom that comes with online learning, yes, but it also comes with a responsibility to manage your time and hold yourself accountable because it is so easy to become lost or sidetracked when there’s no classroom structure, and let’s be real for a moment here, sometimes it’s hard to concentrate in the comfort of your own home.
Even if it’s common to feel overburdened, there are easy yet effective tips you can use to make your online education successful.
Look for a place that is both comfortable and effective. Make sure it’s clutter-free and devoted to learning.
Studying can be fantastic and all but don’t let it cause you to procrastinate. Create a study plan, exactly like you would if you were going to classes in person. Divide everything into manageable portions. Tackle one task, one class, or one subject at a time, and acknowledge and appreciate the small wins as you go.
Keep distractions to a minimum when studying online. If necessary, minimise the time you spend on social media using apps or schedule “break” periods for scrolling. Respect your study time and space!
Though learning from home can make you feel lonely, interacting with your teachers and fellow students can keep you motivated and connected.
