It is that time of the year again where the little ones are going to struggle to get back into the routine of waking up and going to school. While some may be looking forward to school, others will find many excuses not to go.

This is normal for them after a long holiday break. Although, if you need assistance getting them ready, here are some tips to prepare your little ones for when they go back to school.

Come up with a back-to-school routine: According to Nemours KidsHealth – a high-traffic dependable information site on children’s health, behaviour, and development – establishing a routine and sticking to it can help the little ones a lot, starting from bedtimes to the morning routines.

Do your back-to-school shopping: The above-mentioned source adds that getting all the supplies and clothing that your kids will need before the year starts can also help get them ready for their return to school.

Have conversations: Talk to your kid about what they are excited or nervous about. American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) – an information site where member pediatricians dedicate their efforts and resources to the health, safety and well-being of infants and children – shares that talking to the kids can help them feel better about the new year.

American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) also states that as a parent, you should invest your time making sure that your little ones have plenty of healthy snacks for school. Try and be open as possible to them and be their cheerleader to help them stay motivated.
