How to get rid of rats inside your home

Having unwanted guests such as rats in your home can be quite frustrating as it can create an unhygienic space within your home. Once these unwanted guests find their way in, it can be quite a challenge to get rid of them.  

There are multiple reasons why rats can be hovering around in your home. According to BBC Wildlife Magazine – a magazine that specializes in stories about specific species, wildlife habitats and conservation – rats could simply be making their way into your home because they either need food, shelter or both. BBC Wildlife Magazine further advises that people keep their homes squeaky clean and “avoid having food waste on the floor or surfaces.” 

A list of other things as advised by Midway Pest Management – a company that works towards  preventing pests  via various pest control methods such as traps, chemical methods and so forth.

  • leaking pipes
  • clutter

While many seek for hacks to get rid of these rodents, it is important that we also find ways that prevent them from getting back into your home again. Many homeowners may opt for pest control, as this is a guaranteed method that gets rid of rats and rodents from your home.  

The traditional methods of our infamous mice traps can be hazardous, especially if you have a little one around the house. Having to navigate around them can also be a challenge as human beings can be forgetful.

A well-known TikTok user who goes by the name Mbali Nhlapho – a housekeeping guru with all the house cleaning tricks and hacks – has a solution that could possibly solve all our problems when it comes to getting rid of these unwanted guests and preventing them from entering our home spaces again.

These methods require minimal effort, and all the requirements are things you will find in your kitchen.
