Looking to enjoy a much-deserved island holiday? Look no further than the beautiful island of Bora Bora.

Best referred to as the “Pearl of the Pacific”, this holiday destination is the epitome of luxury at its finest. According to the tourism website, The West, the island is located halfway between Australia and the United States and 258km northwest of Tahiti in the South Pacific. This island is considered to belong to French Polynesia.

Those visiting the island will be greeted by the “Crystal clear lagoon, superb coral reefs, vast stretches of white sandy beach and luxuriant forests of lush green tropical vegetation,” explains the travel publication, Tahiti Tourisme.

Aside from its natural beauty, there is also a wealth of activities you and your family can explore, as you fill that Instagram reels with memories of what may be the best holiday of your life.

Here are some of the things you and your family can do:

Eco Shark and Ray snorkelling safari

In South Africa, we are quite familiar with what we can expect to see at a Safari, but going to Bora Bora and doing one that’s underwater, is truly something magical.

According to Tahiti.com, those looking to explore this activity will arrive at a coral garden, where they will have the opportunity to snorkel in the clear and shallow waters to become familiar with the marine life in that area. Certified tour guides will take you to see the sharks and sting rays.

ATV Adventure

If adventure with a touch of history is what you are into, you can also sign up for the ATV experience where you will discover the American WWII cannons and multiple vistas, with some of the most breathtaking views.
