Get the perfect fit every time with these online shopping tips

by Akhona Ndlela

The convenience of internet shopping is unmatched, and we are here for it!

There are countless selections, better prices, and no need to get up from the comfort of your lovely, cosy couch.

However, there is a significant risk associated with that convenience: The fit.

There might be a blazer that you liked and considered to be “oversized chic,” but it resembles your uncle’s favourite funeral blazer. And giving stuff back? At best, a real pain.

So, how do you shop more smartly than just maximising on the convenience of it?

GeSetUp claims that in order to find the right size and fit when shopping online, take into account reviews and comments left by customers with comparable body types. Seek feedback from merchants with comparable review sections, and take note of remarks about fit and sizing.

Contact customer support via email or chat platforms if you’re unsure. The ideal size and fit for your body can be found with the use of precise measurements and online fitting consultations, the above website further states.

American celebrity fashion stylist Erin Noel shares that the first step to a successful online shopping experience is knowing exactly what you want to buy. Make a list of the things you want by searching Pinterest and Instagram for pictures that speak to you. To narrow down your search results, type terms like “cropped black pants” or “mid-calf length leggings” into the bar.

The stylist also states that finding the correct size and lowering the likelihood of returns depend on measurements like inseam, rise, and sleeve length. If a brand doesn’t have a size chart, use Google’s sizing guidelines.
