Fun Easter activities the whole family will love

by Unathi Balele

Easter is a great time for families to come together and celebrate. It’s a time to celebrate new beginnings, and the resurrection of Jesus Christ for those who follow the religious aspect of the holiday.

Many families have traditions such as Easter egg hunts, Easter baskets, and Easter meals that they enjoy doing together. It’s also a time to spend quality time with loved ones, whether it’s by attending church services, having a family meal, or participating in Easter-themed activities.

Overall, Easter can be a meaningful and enjoyable holiday for families to bond and create lasting memories.

We have put together five activities that you and your entire family can participate in this Easter:

  1. Easter egg hunt: Set up an Easter egg hunt in your backyard or local park. Fill plastic eggs with treats like candy, stickers, and small toys. Hide them in easy-to-find places for younger children and more challenging spots for older kids.
  2. Easter crafts: Get creative with Easter-themed crafts such as making Easter baskets, decorating Easter eggs, or creating spring-themed wreaths.
  3. Easter baking: Bake Easter-themed treats like hot cross buns, carrot cake, or sugar cookies decorated with pastel-coloured icing.
  4. Easter charity: Use Easter as an opportunity to give back by volunteering at a local food bank or charity organization.
  5. Easter brunch or dinner: Gather the entire family together for a delicious Easter meal, whether it’s a brunch with quiches and pastries, or a dinner with roasted ham or lamb. This will be a great opportunity to host some family or friends you have not seen in a while.
