First date etiquette

First date etiquette can determine whether your potential date will agree or disagree to a second date. While being nerves and butterflies can get the best of us during first dates, it is important to note a few things that will leave a good impression of you on your date, resulting in a second date and possibly a lifetime partnership.

We are all for a good love story and if we have to advise your on first date etiquette to secure your life partner then, we are here to provide you with what to do and what to avoid during these times in order to get through this stressful experience that comes with being on a first date.

Here are things that you should avoid doing:

  • Using your phone

Being on your phone throughout a date is not only disrespectful but also gives off an impression that you are somehow not interesting in your date.

  • Mention of exes

Cosmopolitan – an American monthly fashion and entertainment magazine – makes mention that everyone has exes and if you talk of them on your first date, it gives off the impression that you are not over your ex. This will result inn an uninterested date as it will seem as though you may have baggage that you haven;t gotten over.

  • Showing up late

Showing up on time is simple a gesture of respect that shows that you respect someones rime. Showing up late can give off the wrong impression and may even result in someone being disinterested. if your are running  =a few minutes late, do inform your date prior and apologize for any inconvenience that you may have caused.

 

Here are things that you should do:

  • Minimize alcohol intake

You may have a drink or 2, however do not overdo it under the reasoning of calming your nerves.

  • Smell good

  • Boost your confidence
