Feeling low? Build an unshakable self-esteem with these tips

We all have days when we feel like we can’t handle the weight of the world.

Perhaps you’re having trouble seeing the brilliance within yourself, doubting your value, or feeling inadequate.

The good news is that you can work on developing unwavering self-esteem every single day.

We allow negative self-talk to impair our judgment far too frequently. The inner voice that tells you that you’re not good enough or that you’ll never succeed can be very loud. Here’s a small secret, though, it’s not true. It’s merely a story that has been repeated repeatedly. Start questioning those ideas.

Happinesscamp.com proposes a few exercises to enhance self-esteem and boost confidence. The first is to shower oneself with compliments, a tool for self-doubt. The second strategy is to validate one’s competence and confidence by using positive affirmations. The third is to accept the child within and rediscover their true self through joyful pursuits. The fourth is to build self-worth and nurture gratitude for life by acknowledging and celebrating accomplishments, no matter how minor.

The above website further explains that speaking to a mirror in front of you, employing positive mantras, doing joyful activities, and celebrating successes are some ways to accomplish these goals. Engaging in these activities can help people feel better about themselves and be happier overall.

According to David Waters, a therapist and coach, “Pretty much everyone experiences a confidence-crushing moment at one time or another. But once you have these tools and make them a habit, stressful moments are no longer a problem. The body’s chemistry starts to change to our advantage. Cortisol, the anxiety-inducing hormone, ebbs away and we get confidence-boosting hits of testosterone, which helps us feel more capable and in control.”
