Christmas – the time of year when kids are at home, family comes over to visit and the holiday spirit consumes all of our hearts.

Despite the festive season spanning over two months parents usually find themselves running out of ideas to keep their families entertained.

Fortunately for you, this year you won’t have to worry about what you will do, as we have a few excellent ideas on how you can keep your family entertained on Christmas Eve.

Christmas movies

What better way to get into the spirit of Christmas than to start binge-watching some of your favourite Christmas movies on the eve of the big day? For years there have been several iconic Christmas movies that have kept many families glued to their television screens. Films like Home Alone, The Gringe, and The Christmas Chronicles have always been some of the most popular films this time of the year and is guaranteed to bring back nostalgia.

Games

Christmas Eve is often the best time for families to come together to have some fun by playing interactive games. There are no specific rules for having fun so you can be as creative as you want, from board games to trivia games, or puzzles – these are ideal for families consisting of four or more members.

Music and decorations

One of the ultimate fun activities to get involved in as Christmas approaches is to start doing your Christmas trimmings. This can be done anytime from a month to a day before Christmas and is especially a joy for the little ones who cannot wait to discover the gifts the next day. While doing so be sure to listen to some of your favourite Christmas tunes as this fully embraces the Christmas cheer.
