Chilled at Mojo Market: Your go-to for drama-free healthy meals

by Akhona Ndlela

The lively atmosphere at the launch of Chilled at Mojo Market in Sea Point immediately drew me in and seemed ideal for a new food endeavour.

Having been invited by Yaron Assabi, I was excited to see what this vendor offers—Chilled delivered on its promise of a healthy, drama-free experience. The menu included a range of healthy, easy-to-make food, and the arrangement was very welcoming. What drew me even more to this idea is the backstory, Yaron touched on how Chilled was inspired by his own personal battle with cancer and his goal of making it the ideal place for people who are health-conscious and searching for quick, filling meals.

With its abundance of fresh ingredients, every dish—from colourful salads to filling bowls—made eating healthily seem simple and accessible which is the ideal goal. I could go on and on about the dishes, but experiencing it yourself is something different.

Meeting BB, who for the life of me cannot remember her first and second name but Keneilwe, her third, was the highlight of the day. She was just delightful, allowing me to have a taste of the variety of ice creams displayed. I could not resist the urge to taste a scoop (or two). So, I ended up having a taste of everything of course. How can one say no to ice cream? Or in this case healthy ice cream. My absolute favourites were the Pistachio and Lime with a charcoal activator.

To me, the most memorable lesson from Yaron is that we should be mindful of what we put in our body and it is not an impossible change to make for a better and healthier lifestyle. The experience was a true demonstration of how easy it is to eat healthily, and Chilled is going to make that easier for everyone.
