Biggest misconceptions about Flight Attendants

The Flight Attendant career is undoubtedly one of the most fun filled job in the world.

One gets to travel the world and stay at different 5-star hotel all around the world.

This glamorous and easy looking job, however, requires more than just good looks and a pretty smile. Cabin Crew potentials undergo intense training which includes Live Firefighting, Wet Ditching, Aviation Medicine training (AvMed), Aircraft Specific training, Dangerous Goods and Security Training.

This career also requires one be medically fit, with airline specific height requirements.

Upon completion of training, cabin crew hopefuls have to write a SACAA exam in order to obtain their Cabin Crew Licence.

They also undergo Service Training where they are taught five-star service etiquettes.

This career that sees one shop at different parts of the world, also provides a meal allowance for its employees (country specific) upon reach of their international destination.

One of the nicest things about this career is that you never take work home. At CHOCKS OFF, once all passengers are out and security check has been concluded, your work is done. You also might never see the grumpy or rude passenger you had on your last flight.

Whether you want to venture into this career for short or long term, this job is guaranteed to give you some of the best travel memories of your life. And whether we associate Flight Attendants with BEEF or CHICKEN, flight attendants might help save your life if sick on a Long-Haul flight.
