If you are experiencing a sore throat, it can be a very uncomfortable and unpleasant experience.

The pain, irritation, and constant itching can all be difficult to deal with. While it’s not always necessary to make an appointment with a doctor, it’s important to take steps to manage the symptoms.

It’s also worth noting that a sore throat can often worsen throughout the day, making it hard to eat or drink. So, it’s a good idea to try and find ways to soothe your throat and make yourself more comfortable.

Here is a list of tips that you can use to assist in making the healing process an easy transition.

Honey

Honey has been medically proven to be one of the best and most natural remedies to healing a sore throat.

According to health and wellness publication, Healthline, a 2021 study has found that honey is just as effective at taming coughs as the cough suppressant dextromethorphan.

In a study done on the acute upper respiratory tract researchers concluded that “honey was more effective at relieving symptoms than other treatments, including antibiotics and the antihistamine diphenhydramine,” explains Healthline.

Whiskey

This alcoholic beverage is able to do a lot more than just serving as a refreshment. According to expert medical publication Cleveland Clinic, Whiskey does an excellent job in breaking down mucus. It is important to take a small amount as taking too much may cause dehydration.

“Whiskey also dilates your blood vessels on the surface of your throat, so immune cells in your blood can multiply and fight the infection,” explains the above-mentioned publication.

Warm bath/shower

The steam produced by taking a warm bath or shower can be inhaled, this is known to produce soothing effects and ease the amount of irritation as well as loosening mucus.
