1. Choose the right fit
According to Stitch Fix, comfort starts with choosing the right and well-fitting pair. Shoes that are too tight can cause blisters, pressure points and discomfort, while shoes that are too loose may make your feet slide forward.
Shop for heels later in the day, when feet are naturally slightly swollen, and make sure your toes have enough room to move.
2. Add cushioned insoles
As reported by Cosmopolitan, cushioned pads and cushioned insoles can provide extra support under your feet and heels.
They can also reduce pressure and friction, particularly if you’ll be standing or walking for several hours.Look for slim, discreet options designed specifically for high heels.

3. Break them in gradually
Even the best shoes need an introduction period. Avoid wearing a brand-new pair of heels for an entire day. Fitflop recommends wearing your heels indoors before the big day to soften the materials and let your feet adjust.
Wear them around the house for short periods first, allowing the material to soften and mould to your feet. Thick socks can also help gently stretch tighter areas.
4. Try heel grips
If your heels rub against the back of your feet, adhesive heel grips can help prevent slipping and reduce friction.
They’re particularly useful for shoes that fit well overall but have a slightly loose heel.
5. Give your feet a break
Even comfortable heels can put additional pressure on your feet. Where possible, alternate between sitting and standing, take your shoes off during breaks, and switch to supportive flats or sneakers when practical.
With the right fit, cushioning and a little preparation, you can enjoy your favourite high heels while giving your feet the care they deserve.
