Air France is giving travellers an extra month to enjoy its popular Cape Town–Paris route, extending the seasonal service until 3 May 2026. The decision comes after what the airline describes as “exceptional demand” from both South African and international passengers.
A Boost For Cape Town Tourism
Originally set to end in April, the route has proven a hit with South Africans heading to Europe for business and leisure, as well as tourists flying to the Mother City for summer holidays. The extension offers Cape Town’s tourism industry another welcome boost as the city remains one of the most sought-after destinations for European travellers.
Air France’s Southern Africa Country Manager, Wilson Tauro, said the move highlights Cape Town’s enduring global appeal.
“Cape Town remains one of the most inspiring destinations in our network. This extension reflects the continued appetite for travel between Cape Town and Europe and reinforces Air France’s commitment to connecting South Africans to the world with style, comfort and efficiency,” Tauro said.
Daily Flights On A Modern Fleet
The extended service operates daily, using the airline’s Airbus A350 — one of the most fuel-efficient and passenger-friendly aircraft in Air France’s fleet.
-
Flight AF0871 departs Cape Town at 08h50, landing in Paris at 19h20.
-
Flight AF0890 returns from Paris at 18h30, arriving in Cape Town at 06h45 the next day.
A Sign Of Strong Recovery
The route’s performance underscores a broader recovery in international travel to and from South Africa. As global tourism continues to rebound, long-haul connectivity remains key for Cape Town’s economic and cultural exchange with the world.
With Air France now extending its schedule into May, South Africans have even more flexibility to plan European getaways — just in time for the northern hemisphere spring season.
