Our Digital Editor recently visited the Life Grand Cafe in Hyde Park. Here are 5 things she loved about the restaurant.
Food
The menu at Life Grand is very confusing, but in a good way. There is so much to choose from that you end up confused and want to order the whole menu. I wish I could’ve ordered the whole menu, but sadly, I couldn’t. The menu is extensive and diverse, it offers something for every palate. I chose to have the seared salmon with potatoes and my partner had their lamb shank, which I obviously tasted. What I loved about their menu is that the prices are not ridiculous. It’s not a restaurant you can eat at every day, but at least twice a month would be great. What stood out for me was their selection of tapas. Get your girlfriends and enjoy.
Drinks
Their selection of wines is to die for, so look forward to that. The restaurant also offers a few organic wines and some craft beers and cocktails.
Service
The staff is friendly and but not as attentive as they should be. But we did go at a busy time and since the food was so great, they are forgiven for that.
Ambience
Whether it’s date night or movie nights with your girls, Life Grand is perfect. It’s not too romantic to intimidate singles, yet it’s not too roudy to put couples off. Classy and sophisticated are words that come to mind when describing the restaurant.
Why Life Grand
It’s affordable, service is great, the location is perfect and their drinks are to die for. Plus if you order a cappuccino, they write sweet things for you on it. So grab your partner or your girlfriends and go spend a couple of hours together over a great meal.
