Her first, then her every thing – The power in her pause

by Adrienne Bredeveldt
1st for women
She’s the woman who never stops.

The one who keeps the household running, the deadlines met, the hearts held together. She’s praised for her strength, admired for her resilience and relied on by everyone around her. But behind the strength is something few ever see, the quiet exhaustion, the suppressed need to rest, to simply be.

first for women

Pause. Breathe. You’re more than just strength. 1st for Women believes true power lies in balance and self-care. That’s why they’ve launched ‘Her first, then her every thing‘ – a campaign that starts with Her.

1st for Women seeks to redefine what strength truly means, not as the endless endurance society often celebrates, but as the balance, softness and support every woman deserves.

If you agree, then join the movement: take our quick poll and stand a chance to win a luxurious Yardley hamper!

The Duality of Strength Poll

1. Do people assume you can handle everything?

2. When last did you do something for yourself?

3. What does true strength mean to you?

4. Which area of life feels most demanding?

5. Does society celebrate or overlook your resilience?

1st for Women’s new campaign reflects what women are truly saying: strength and ease can coexist.  Her and Now: Insights into the Women of South Africa 2025: After listening to over 4,000 women, it’s clear that resilience doesn’t always look like toughness; peace, rest and the right to exhale matter just as much as power. Because real strength is knowing you can be strong and take a breath.
