Lemons, the little yellow heroes you never knew you needed. They may appear simple, but beneath that bright, zesty peel is a whole lot of goodness.

They give a little magic to your meals, a zing to your water, and a kick to your tea. They are also your go-to tool for feeling amazing and new with their health benefits.

The below health experts provide individuals with the reasons why lemons are the ultimate health boosters:

Everyday Health claims, “Lemons are a member of the citrus family, which also includes oranges, grapefruit, and limes. All citrus fruits contain some level of citric acid, the compound responsible for their famously tart taste.”

“Aside from adding flavour to foods, different parts of lemons are also used to produce citric acid, a preservative and flavour; pectin, a soluble fibre used to thicken foods; and essential oils,” the health source mentioned above also adds.

The health-focused publication Healthline states that by raising urine pH and volume, citric acid may help prevent kidney stones by reducing the conditions that lead to kidney stone formation.

According to the above health hub, “Iron deficiency anaemia is quite common. It occurs when you don’t get enough iron from the foods you eat. Lemons contain some iron, but they primarily prevent anaemia by improving your absorptionTrusted Source of iron from plant foods.”

EatingWell claims that any healthy eating plan should include lemons because they are a nutritional powerhouse. Along with important minerals like potassium, calcium, and magnesium, they are a great source of fibre, antioxidants, and vitamin C.
