Every day, your body communicates with us through signals. This can be our emotions, or our health etc and we can easily miss these signs.
I’ve been reflecting lately on how much of our lives are constantly on autopilot and so unhealthily routine. We eat, go through socials, rush through to-do lists, sleep, and on repeat, or at least this is what I have noticed around me.
Perhaps, a wellness journal could be the trick you need to take note of what your body is trying to tell you on a daily basis where you can write down your eating habits, sleep patterns, stressful events, and positive experiences.
According to CareClinic, “Wellness journaling is a process of reflection and self-discovery that can help you move towards greater wellness in all aspects of your life. By taking the time to journal about your thoughts, feelings, and experiences related to wellness, you can begin to gain insights into your own individual patterns and what may be holding you back from optimal health and well-being.”
The health-focused publication Healthline states that journaling can promote mental clarity, improve health and wellbeing, and lessen stress. According to a 2019 study, 85% of participants said that doing a gratitude exercise helped them feel less stressed.
According to a 2018 study, writing for 12 weeks about happy memories, such as thankfulness, was associated with less distress and more well-being. Because it provides a secure, confined environment for identifying and embracing the particular feelings felt, journaling also aids in the processing of emotions, the above health hub further shares.
