Incredible Lavender oil benefits

Lavender oil is known for the many incredible benefits it comes with. The fresh, floral aroma of this essential oil has the power to calm restless minds, help one relax and it is believed to have some medicinal uses. 

According to Medical News Today, Lavender is an herb native to northern Africa and the mountainous regions of the Mediterranean.

Medical News Today highlights these incredible benefits of Lavender oil: 

Fungal infections

A study published in the Journal of Medical Microbiology on Chemical composition and antifungal activity of the essential oils of Lavandula viridis L’Hér found that lavender oil could be effective in combating antifungal-resistant infections.

According to this study, Lavender oil Lavandula oil is potent and demonstrates antifungal activity on a wide spectrum.

Wound healing

Lavender oil contains properties that will serve as treatment for wounds. 

Hair loss

Lavender is possibly effective for treating alopecia areata. According to Healthline, alopecia areata is an unpredictable condition that causes the hair on your face or body to fall out in patches. 

Anxiety disorder and related conditions

According to Healthline, lavender oil is used to ease anxiety. Inhaling lavender could significantly lower anxiety levels measured using a clinically validated scale. Massage with lavender oil was also found to help reduce anxiety levels.

You can use lavender oil to help ease your anxiety by enjoying a relaxing lavender bath by combining a few drops of lavender oil with a teaspoon of carrier oil, such as almond oil or jojoba oil, or an unscented bath gel. Stir the mixture into warm bathwater just before entering and enjoy.

Post-tonsillectomy pain in children

Lavender oil has been shown to reduce the amount of pain killing medicine required after a tonsillectomy.
