Discover a healthier you with the 21 Day Challenge

by Limpho Nonkonyane
PEXELS

The 21-day fitness and mental health challenge is an effective way to establish and maintain new habits. Studies have shown that it takes up to 21 days to form a habit.

Professor M.S. Rao ,Founder of MSR Leadership Consultants, India says , “To develop habits, work hard and consistently for 21 days. Although it may require some effort, the results are worthwhile. Similarly, if you want to quit a negative habit, restrain yourself for a few days and be surprised at how much progress you can make. For instance like going to the gym every morning at 4 am – start waking up on time by day 22.Utilizing the rule of 21-days could assist in overcoming any undesirable habit and yielding excellent outcomes.”

In the 21-day challenge staying positive can be very difficult, as you have to re-learn new habits and unlearn your old habits and in order to attain positivity you have to pick one good item each day and record it for 21 days. This might be a little accomplishment, such as an excellent exam result, or a comeback victory. The professor says that you should continue this exercise for three months to discover how it affects your life.

In this challenge you should also identify three areas in your life that require the most assistance, and concentrate on them one by one. After 21 days you must switch to the following part and replicate this method so that you can make progress without feeling weighed down.

Find a task that brings you joy for just five minutes every day, such as taking a walk around the nearby garden, doodling or talking to someone who always knows what’s right. This can be anything from taking a stroll to having a conversation and it should only take up very little time so that your other responsibilities are not compromised, says CAPESPACE publication.
