Stomach pain can be caused by a variety of factors, from indigestion to bloating, and it often strikes at the most inconvenient times.

The below publications explore some easy, natural solutions for stomach pain:

According to Medical News Today, “Stomach pain, also known as abdominal pain, belly ache, or stomach ache, describes discomfort that a person feels anywhere between their chest and groin. This pain can vary in intensity and affect different areas of the abdomen, such as the stomach, appendix, liver, bowel, and more.”

The health news publication states that additionally, stomach pain may coexist with other symptoms including nausea, bloating, and heartburn. Which treatment is best for a person’s stomach pain will depend on what causes it.

WebMD suggests doing the following at home to temporarily relieve stomach pain:

  • Apply a heating pad to your abdomen.
  • Eat simple-to-digest foods, such as bananas and crackers.
  • Keep yourself hydrated by consuming lots of clear liquids.

The above health website also states that although it is not always possible to avoid stomach pain, you can lessen your risks by eating mindfully and chewing your food slowly and completely. This promotes better digestion.

“Ginger is available as extracts, tinctures, lozenges, supplements, and teas, but can also be used raw to relieve digestive symptoms,” according to Very Well Health.

The health source mentioned above also adds that you should consult your healthcare professional if you experience any of the following symptoms in addition to your stomach ache:

  • Vomiting and nausea for a few days
  • Stools that are bloody
  • Unaccounted-for weight loss
