The pineapple is a representation of hospitality and welcomes despite its unappealing look. This fruit contains numerous health benefits. The immune system is also very friendly to pineapple: one cup has more than 88% of the collagen-producing, cell-protecting vitamin C that you need each day.

According to WebMD here are some incredible health benefits of pineapple:

Helps with Digestion

Bromelain, a group of enzymes that breaks down protein, is exclusively known to be found in pineapples. Because of this, pineapples help to tenderize meat. The flesh is made softer by the bromelain, which also breaks down the protein. Bromelain facilitates the digestion and absorption of meals within your body.

High in Manganese

The body’s ability to digest food, coagulate blood, and maintain strong bones all depend on the mineral manganese. More than half of the daily recommended amount of manganese is found in one cup of pineapple, states the medical publication.

Vitamins and Minerals

Pineapples contain loads of minerals and vitamins. Pineapples also increase your daily recommended intake of vitamin B6, copper, thiamin, folate, potassium, magnesium, niacin, riboflavin, and iron in addition to high levels of vitamin C and manganese.

Contains Antioxidants

Pineapples are a rich source of antioxidants that may reduce your risk of ailments such as heart disease, diabetes, and certain cancers. However the medical publication notes that more research is needed, but bromelain has also been linked to reduced risk of cancer.

May boost immunity and suppress inflammation

According to Healthline, pineapples may have anti-inflammatory properties that may help enhance your immune function.
