A turmeric latte, also known as golden milk, is a healthy and delicious drink that has become increasingly popular in recent years due to its various health benefits.

This warm, frothy drink is made with turmeric, a spice that has anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties.

With a comforting flavour, this beverage is sure to make a great addition to your warm beverage rotation of tea, coffee and hot chocolate. Here’s how to make a turmeric latte at home.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup milk of your choice (dairy or non-dairy)
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon honey (or any sweetener of your choice)
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla essence
  • A pinch of black pepper

Instructions:

  1. Heat the milk in a saucepan over medium heat until it begins to simmer.
  2. Add turmeric powder, cinnamon powder, ground ginger, and a pinch of black pepper to the milk.
  3. Whisk the ingredients together until the spices are well combined.
  4. Allow the mixture to simmer for 2-3 minutes until it becomes fragrant.
  5. Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in honey or maple syrup to sweeten the taste.
  6. Pour the mixture into a blender and blend until frothy.
  7. Pour the mixture into a mug and sprinkle with a dash of cinnamon.

Tips:

  • Use a high-speed blender to ensure a smooth and frothy consistency.
  • Adjust the sweetness and spice level to your taste.
  • For a vegan option, use non-dairy milk such as almond or coconut milk.
  • Use fresh turmeric root instead of turmeric powder for a more intense flavour and even more health benefits.
