Cabbage may not have been your go to vegetable to grab while on your grocery run. Many people are under the impression that there are limited amount of ways in which you can cook the vegetable. In fact, cabbage not only provides tremendous amount of nutrients, it is also quite versatile and inexpensive. 

Using cabbage as a main ingredient is a perfect way in which you can save some extra cash on your groceries this January. When purchasing such a large vegetable, it gives you the opportunity to plan several delicious meals ahead of time, saving you time and money. 

This underrated vegetable is not only a cost effective option, but is also versatile. According to Healthline, the vegetable comes in an array of shapes and colours, it can be eaten raw or cooked and can be added to a wide array of dishes like salads, soups, stews, slaws and it can even be juiced. This gives you the chance to try out multiple cabbage dishes while still being on a budget.
