Ideally, you would love to stay consistent with your workout exercises even during your period. However, a lot of women choose to not exercise during their period because of how uncomfortable it can get.

It is important to note that every woman experiences periods differently. Therefore, when it comes to a workout routine, women might not be able to handle the same workout intensity. However, even though it might be uncomfortable to exercise during your period at first, it offers some impressive benefits.

According to experts, the best exercise to do during your period is your favorite exercise. Experts suggest that you use the time of your period to reduce your exercise intensity.

Healthline suggests these workout exercises to do during your period:

Light walking or other light cardio

The first few days of your period might be difficult, you can consider doing some light cardio, walking, or shorter bouts of aerobic exercise.

Yoga and Pilates

Yoga and Pilates are great workouts to engage in during your period. They can help you with relaxing your body and potentially reduce symptoms like cramping, breast tenderness, and muscular fatigue and soreness.

Low volume strength training activities

According to WomensHealth, strength training or resistance training involves using your own bodyweight or tools, like dumbbells or resistance bands, to build muscle mass, strength, and endurance. Continue with these types of exercises especially if you are feeling fatigued, just be mindful of the intensity.
