Celeb Fashion At The J&B Met

Cape Town was abuzz this weekend as a few of our favourites flocked to the J&B Met. We take a glance at who wore what…

Nomuzi Mabena

It’s so sad to see a beautiful outfit go wrong. This time it was Nomuzi who fell victim to this situation. Individually, the pieces were gorgeous, but the crop top was ill-suited to her frame and the skirt was just a little too tight. Unfortunately, it was a fail in our eyes.

Minnie Dlamini

Minnie was a vision – the futuristic cut of the dress fused with the tribal-inspired print, meshed together perfectly to create a delight for the eyes of all those who saw her. We loved it!

DA LES

Les was cool, calm and collected in a maroon suit, sneakers and a simple white tee. Effortless, yet charming… Good job Les!

Khanyi Mbau

Always one to cause a stir, Miss Mbau didn’t disappoint. Her first look was a tasselled and sheer ensemble, which we feel could only be accepted at an event like the Met where the aim is to think out the box. For that reason alone, we give her a thumbs up.

She was later spotted in an all-white number with her partner Tebogo Lerole. This definitely was more of a showpiece and lacked the wow element we got from the first look. Tebogo was a trend success and dressed to the nines. He wins best dressed male for this one.

Zizo Beda and Lunga Shabalala

Oh Zizo *sigh*…Fingers crossed 2015 will bring a new stylist into her life. This lady is young, beautiful and full of personality, and we continue to wait with baited breath for the day she will blow us away with her outfit.

Lunga’s wardrobe seems to be filled with the same colour palette as this is all we see him in #yawn…. Maybe Tebogo Lerole should give him some styling tips.

Tumi Voster

Not sure if Tumi was trying to take a trip down memory lane with this Matric Dance-inspired outfit, but whatever was going on here we hope it is never to be repeated. She usually gets it right, so we will give her the benefit of the doubt this time.

Thando Thabethe and DJ Sphectacula

Although Thando doesn’t get the prize for best dressed, we can’t fault her outfit. The only thing we would have left out would’ve been the fascinator as it ages her whole look.

DJ Sphectacula was dressed appropriately for the event, but other than that he didn’t excite us.

Boity

Boity held the title of Queen on Bling for the day. Her look was a head-to-toe win. She looked absolutely stunning…Big ups to Gert-Johan Coetzee.

Denise Zimba

Denise toned it all the way down and kept it simple this time around with a touch of sexy…guess she learnt her lesson from the sheer outfit we saw her in last time.
